The Start of FY21 Federal Contracting

Happy New Fiscal Year! 

I never thought I'd be so happy to say that phrase - but it just means we are one step closer to the calendar New Year and 2021 is upon us. 2020 has been rough, in so many ways. The New Year will at least bring a fresh start and hopefully some relief from these trying times.

Federal contracting for FY21 has begun and I thought it would be cool to look at the first day of contracting that took place.

$1.65B was awarded on 10/01/2020 to 3,108 companies. 

$1.32B came solely from the Department of Veterans Affairs awarding to 1998 companies. 

Of the $1.65B that was awarded, 35.2% went to Small Businesses or $580.83M.
